the basics
001) First off, by joining this site you must not only following any staff-given rules, but also the PROBOARDS TOS. Staff-given rules include anything that is mentioned in this thread or anywhere else such as site announcements. Failure to follow our rules and the proboards terms of service will result in the termination of your account. Please note that these rules are subject to change, and the staff can/will edit them if any problems arise that call for them to do so.

002) Show respect not only for the staff, but the other members as well. No racism or discrimination should be used at anytime. It is understandable if your roleplay characters don't get along, but there's no reason that you shouldn't be civil to one another. You shouldn't take out character disagreements on the person behind the character. If such incidents occur, you will either get a warning or banning, depending on the severity of the offense.

003) This site has a rating of PG-13 in order to be suitable for everyone; however, swearing and sex will be aloud as long as it is kept at a reasonable level. For example, every other word your character is saying should not need to be censored. If you prefer to write that way, then this is not the site for you. If your character ever finds the need to get intimate with another character in a thread (even if you do not write out every detail), you must put a noticeable warning in the thread title in order to prevent those who do not wish to read that from accidentally doing so.

004) There will not be, under any circumstances, plagiarizing. What does this mean? You may not copy posts from another site and claim them as yours on here, nor may you copy posts from this site that you did not write and claim them as your own elsewhere. You may not copy information from somebody else's application and use it in your own. This also means that you may not use Wikipedia or Twilight Lexicon to write your application for you, it is acceptable if you read them for a little extra knowledge on a character, but no copying what was written. Believe me, we check. If you happen to get caught plagiarizing not only will we ban you, we will also embarrass the pants off of you. EXHIBIT A. Not plagiarizing. Period.

005) This site was created by AYDEN with much help from SHARLI. Credit is given where credit is due in appropriate box of the sidebar. Nobody, under any circumstances, has permission to copy anything that is on this site whether it be the plot, board descriptions, or a few graphics. None if it is yours, so do not steal it. If you are found stealing anything from this site, you will be asked to modify your board and will be given twenty-four hours to do so before a complaint is filed with proboards.

006) Make sure you back up everything! This includes applications, posts of yours that you may want to use again in the future, or any graphics. If something is to happen to the board that causes them to no longer be accessible, it is not the responsibility of the staff to retrieve them for you, as you have been warned in the rules. Asking to do so will simply result in the answer being no. None of the staff will be sending a user their content. End of discussion.

joining and applying
001) Please stay active when you join! We don't want people to join and login once just to advertise their site (the advertisement board is guest friendly, or create an account and never return. If you join and fail to post anything within a week, without an absence notice, your account will be deleted. What does active mean on our staff's terms? It means responding to your threads in a timely manner (unless you have an absence notice up). We would like to keep the plot moving along. Two weeks without login is considered inactive. We will have activity checks once or twice a month, and you will be deemed inactive on your first failure to respond, then be deleted on your second failure to respond. If you have multiple accounts, please login with them all when you get on, rather than never using one of them but keeping the account's face claim. You may have as many accounts as you can handle, but please try and make sure that you do not have five female accounts and zero males, we like to keep the ratios close. The password is 'hurricanes and butterflies.' Also, replying to the activity check doesn't necessarily make you safe from deletion. If you do not update your threads very often, yet still login, you are more than eligible to be deleted.

002) When putting in your application, you have three days to finish it beginning with the day that you posted it. If you know that you will not be able to do so due to an absence, message a staff member to get an extension. If you fail to complete your application in the allotted amount of time, it will be denied and moved to the archives. You may re-apply, but please note that the staff may not accept you due to you already showing negative activity. Also, please fill out everything in the specified way, or you will be denied/ignored. This means reposting in the the proper format or using code or quote when asked for. This applies for not only the application, but claims and activity checks as well.

roleplaying and posting
001) As an intermediate/advanced roleplay site, we take length into consideration. There will be absolutely no one-liners. There is nothing wrong with having a lack of muse, but one-liners will never be acceptable. The minimum post length, as set by the staff, is three paragraphs. If you are an inexperienced roleplayer or feel that three paragraphs is too much to ask, this board is probably not the play for you. A staff member can direct you to site more within your experience level if you feel that the mentioned is too much for you.

002) Literacy is also a must when it comes to being a part of this site. As already mentioned, we are an intermediate/advanced site, and we expect a little more from our roleplayers, especially if they are auditioning for a canon. There will be a set minimum for everything in the application that you must clearly meet in order to become a member of this site. Spell check is your friend. Using it is a good thing. It will help make sure all your posts make sense to the people replying to them. Also, no slang unless it's in the phone or instant messaging boards.

003) There are no such things as perfect people; therefore, there are no such things as perfect characters. So, Gary Stu/Mary Sus. End of discussion. There will also be no power playing. This means you may not dictate what happens to another person's character; if that person doesn't want their character to die, then you may not have your character kill them. If you're unsure whether something falls under the power playing category, please refer to the post below. Also, no character suicide! If you need to get rid of a character, just ask an admin to delete the account. Suicide will result in a banning. Also, along the lines of power playing, you may not put that you are of any relation to a character on this board in your application unless you have gained that person's permission first. You also may not say that you are a canon character's long lost family or their best friend; the canons will be limited to what we know from the books, but this doesn't mean you can't talk to Jacob Black, you just can't be his best friend or girlfriend because we all know he loves Bella (and eventually imprints on Renesmee) and Embry and Quil are his best friends.

004) All posts need to meet the criteria that is about to be set out for you. You may no start posting until your application has been accepted. Posting may take place in either third or first person, depending on which you prefer; all thread must follow the tense that the first poster uses in order to avoid confusion. As already mentioned, all posts must be at least three paragraphs in length unless they are a phone or instant message conversation. It is asked that you always post in size 1 font, no bigger; exceptions would be an text graphics used, but the actual post must be in size one.

everything else
001) We do not accept original vegetarian vampires. Why? Because Stephenie Meyer makes it very clear that they are rare in the books. If you feel that you have to play a vegetarian, apply for a canon, there are always plenty of them open. There is a chance that a vampire meeting the Cullens will switch to the vegetarian lifestyle, but this has to be discussed with an admin prior to taking place and your character must already be an accepted crimson vampire. Likewise, we will not be accepting any original shape shifters at the time. If you would like a shifter, there are plenty without a background story to choose from. If we ever decided to accept original shifters, they may not be female, as it is made clear that Leah is the only one. Children of the Moon are a possibility when we reach that point in the plot.

002) Before you begin your application, please make sure that the name and play-by you wish to use are not already taken. We will not accept multiple people wanting to use the same name or play-by. Doubles on a play-by will only occur in special, admin-discussed circumstances. If two people are applying for a character using the same play-by, the application that is accepted first will get to use that play-by.

003) There are no reservations. Not on the play-by list, canon list, or name claim. Nothing. So, do not message an admin asking to reserve anything because the answer will be no. Everything is given on a first come, first served basis here because we feel it is the most fair way to go about it. Also, when filling out claims, please do it in the format asked. No other format will be accepted. If you are asked to repost in code, then do so or your post will be ignored.
